>>I'm off to begin my work day and demand the books from my>wife so I can see what my company is doing these days.<>>If you have your own company, then you of all people should>realize the absurdity of asking others to open their books to>you.>>Have you considered making your products/services FREEWARE?>>Just seems hypocritical IMO since you are a FREEWARE proponent>that you are not the FIRST in line to offer YOUR>products/services as FREEWARE.>>Why not justify to the FS "community" why you operate a>PAYWARE company while being a FREEWARE proponent?>>:-lol :-lol :-lolWell Ron, for one thing you know what they say about assumptions. :-lolYou really should not assume things you have no clue about without inquiring first. :-lolI never said I own a Payware company, those are your words, and ummm they are WRONG RON, and therefore you are wrong Ron.I don't own a Payware company. I don't sell software. Thanks for playing though.I await your next False implication. :-lolAnd I do offer freeware to the community. Don't like it, too bad, so sad. :-lol :-lolAs for my Company, I offer tangible products, consulting, marketing, and advice which save my clients anywhere from $10,000 to upwards of $25,000 per transaction, which they would be wasting on other unjustified high prices with competitors. And it has nothing to do with Flight Simulation at all. So I give back quite a bit, my highest end product costs $799.95, which drives my competition nutso, in my opinion, because they charge so large a price. So in summary I don't sell any software at all, so try implying false analogies somewhere else, especially when you demonstrate you know nothing about what I do.And I do offer prospective clients free information, advice, etc.... You see, I do make a difference in peoples lives saving them thousands upon thousands of dollars in the process.Nice Try, you get a -1 for the attempt. :-lolEnjoy your Wednesday,Sonar5aopa.gif" border="0" alt="Grab My FREEWARE Voice recognition Profiles here:[a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fs2004misc&DLID=58334]Cessna 172 Voice Profile[/a][a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fs2004misc&DLID=60740]FSD Avanti Voice Profile[/a].You will need the main FREEWARE Flight Assistant program to use it, get it here:[a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=genutils&DLID=39661]Flight Assistant 2.2[/a]

Payware was used loosely to describe the fact that you do business for profit, not for free. The implication is simply that you do not do business as a FREEWARE business. Free advice notwithstanding, you make a profit or you couldn't remain in business.Having a lower price for your products/services does not imply a generous freeware business at all. Perhaps you could open your books for all to see how you justify your price/marketing strategy since you have no problem asking that of others:-)Still seems hypocritical of you to ask of others what you are unwilling to do yourself :-) :-)

LOL, theres Joe again practising the classic "FREEWARE activist" ploy of deciding that all the stuff that's missing from his awesome FREEWARE plane really doesn't matter to him and therefore can't be taken into account in claiming that a PAYWARE version might have more to offer. :D

I never said that. You just keep going on and on with false implications and assumptions and you really have no clue. You also seem to have a problem with the use and differences in meaning of freeware, and payware. If your going to try and keep up in the conversation, read my posts a couple times before hitting reply, or at least ask for a clarification. Your false implications and false assumptions about what I do are getting a bit boring, to say the least. :-lolPayware and freeware refers to software that is offered for a price, and software that is provided at no cost. I stated I offer FREEWARE to the community and I do. When I referred to freeware, I was talking about this hobby, and never stated I had a freeware business. Read the post again there Ron, I said I provide prospective clients free information and advice, not freeware. Man too funny. :-lol So put it up Ron, show everyone the post where I said I would not open my books or I was unwilling to open my books.I'll be waiting for that post. :-lolTake Care,Sonar5PS - Since you seem to be a bit confused on word usage and the definition of Freeware, here is one example:From:http://dict.die.net/freeware/ Software, often written by enthusiasts and distributed at no charge by users' groups, or via the World-Wide Web, electronic mail, bulletin boards, Usenet, or other electronic media.Note the use of the word software, not that you can't try to coin a new definition if you choose to I guess. :-lolOh and this one too:payware /pay'weir/ Commercial software. Opposite: shareware or freeware.Perhaps a business marketing class or something might clear up the differences for you. Check The University of Illinois, they're a great School, even I went there. :-lol aopa.gif" border="0" alt="Grab My FREEWARE Voice recognition Profiles here:[a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fs2004misc&DLID=58334]Cessna 172 Voice Profile[/a][a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fs2004misc&DLID=60740]FSD Avanti Voice Profile[/a].You will need the main FREEWARE Flight Assistant program to use it, get it here:[a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=genutils&DLID=39661]Flight Assistant 2.2[/a]

I'm quite aware of the University of Illinois since I lived in Urbana for over 20 years and both my sons and their families still live there:-)Doubt that you read your own posts but here's your quote..."Perhaps if you as a developer released profits, actual costs, data costs, maybe we can understand the high costs, small area justifications that you attempt in your pricing scheme."We simply challenge you to the same scrutiny that you do to others. We are as sure that will try to change the subject but the challenge remains....put up or shutup:-):-)

Using caps is called shouting on the Internet, due to programs which convert typewritten words to voice for those who dont see well. It raises the volume of the words quite a bit... Out of consideration for them, many use other ways to emphasize things. Like -capitols- make it uncomfortable for others. It is much easier for those with reduced vision, to read lower case letters than all capitols. Back in the days of teletype which used all capitols, we discovered even for those with 20/20 vision, it made it more difficult to read. Especially when it is in five letter code groups.Since about (1976) from my experience, using all caps has been called -shouting- which is considered rude, by the majority of people.

Thanks Bob,But I am still free to choose my own typing style, as it is my choice, not anyone else.As for those above who questioned me on that, and other grammatical viewpoints instead of debating my views, There is something else I read about those who live in glass houses an all that. You see, when in my opinion, one does not have an answer they retort to attacking the poster instead of the opinion itself.Anyway, I really like your Red Rocks Sedona Pic, reminds me I need to get back out that way again, beautiful part of the country. Good Luck with your prints.Regards,Joeaopa.gif" border="0" alt="Grab My FREEWARE Voice recognition Profiles here:[a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fs2004misc&DLID=58334]Cessna 172 Voice Profile[/a][a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fs2004misc&DLID=60740]FSD Avanti Voice Profile[/a].You will need the main FREEWARE Flight Assistant program to use it, get it here:[a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=genutils&DLID=39661]Flight Assistant 2.2[/a]

Ron said after an edit:"We are as sure that will try to change the subject but the challenge remains....put up or shutup"Boy you really don't know me, for when my integrity is questioned, I do put up everytime. Game on, and Bring It On Ron, if you can.Sorry, Ron, spin all you can, I never said I was unwilling to disclose them. You just like spinning more false claims and then try backtracking your own words to justify their use. :-lolI'll tell you what, you line up the developers to release their books at the Avsim Conference and I will have mine for all to view as well. Can't get any more clear than that. I will even buy a booth, show my books, and a few other freeware examples of MSFS.Of course a booth for me will only be $250 considering my files in the community are FREEWARE and all, and I won't be selling or advertising my business at all, just showing my books. So there you go, ball is in your and the other developers that seem to chime in when I post.I will release my books to the public at the Avsim Conference if the Following Developers also do so. I may have to dig back a few posts to name some other developers as well.DreamfleetFlight1EaglesoftHolger's groupMajor Scenery CompaniesReality-XPThe Ball seems to be in your and their court now, you get all of them to do it, and I'll buy a booth and show mine. Once I see receipts for reciprocal booths, and a statement that thse will comply I will purchase my booth, and show receipt as well as a statement to comply as well. And I'm talking full books here, Cost of sales, P&L, Tax Returns, Sellers Licenses, Sales Tax returns, Bank Statements showing Deposits, withdrawals, compensation, partnership agreements, affiliate agreements, publishing agreements, royalties, etc.....(negotiable possibly to a point of agreement)Let's play Ball Ron, I'm not afraid or reluctant to open my books at all. Let's see if you and the others are though. I await the response,Sonar5PS - I'm only an hour North of san Diego, so this is pretty easy for me to do, and provides a clear open forum for all to do so. I'm also considering a white paper, but I have not decided whether I want to submit one or not yet. :-lol :-lolaopa.gif" border="0" alt="Grab My FREEWARE Voice recognition Profiles here:[a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fs2004misc&DLID=58334]Cessna 172 Voice Profile[/a][a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fs2004misc&DLID=60740]FSD Avanti Voice Profile[/a].You will need the main FREEWARE Flight Assistant program to use it, get it here:[a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=genutils&DLID=39661]Flight Assistant 2.2[/a]

Can I have a list of your major competitors in your area so I can make sure they see your books when you release them?

  • Author

My competitors are National and If you show up at the Conference you can view them like everyone else if the terms are adhered to.So in short, No. Do your own research. :-lol

The reponse is quite simple Joe....SAYING you will open your books and actually DOING it are two different things.:-)You opened this can of worms when you challenged others to open their books. Saying you will open yours books AFTER others do it first is absurd. No business man that we know would even consider such a thing just because you asked for it.:-)The point of this entire exercise has been to help you see the absurdity of this for yourself and we hope we have assisted you in some small way:-)As for freeware contributions, you are welcome to search for my freeware in any of the FS Libraries under my name. Any of my Team Members names may be searched as well...the search will reveal that all have been freeware authors for quite a while and a few are freeware AWARD winners as well:-)

Joe please - pick your fights elsewhere.

Point it out or retract it. Sheesh, read it again Ron, Twice or three times if you have to, slowly too.I said I will purchase a booth and provide a receipt, and a statement that I will open my books at the conference. Each Company can have a booth, and display their books, and I will as well. All I'm saying is you folks buy your booth, make a statement you will open your books at the conference, and then I will do the same. The books can be opened at exactly the same time at the conference for all involved. It's not very complicated, and it is pretty good on my part considering I am spending money and I don't sell anything that has to do with Flight Simming. :-lolSeems a fair way for all to be pleased with the result. 1. You are on record as SAYING you will open your books.2. We are NOT on record as saying we will open our ours.As mentioned earlier...the point of this exercise has been to help you see the absurdity of what you ask of others. It would seem that we failed to help you see what is quite obvious to others so we'll just leave it as it is:-)
