Track Ir 5 questions

Featured Replies

Good day everyone,

I finally got my FSX stabilized with my new GTX 980, so far I am so happy with the results and would like to purchase the TrackIR 5 PRO.

-Does this devise causes any problems to the frame rate, textures, and addons?

-Is it easy to install?

-I found Track IR 5 pro and none pro, which one you guys recommend?

-Does it worth buying it?

Best regards,

Adel

I use the 3 reflector hat setup, works well and I haven't noticed a FPS hit ... I do get head motion stutters but that's more to do with where I have the sensor mounted.  I moved up to a 49" 4K monitor which moved the sensor higher up so it's cone range isn't optimal for my sitting position.

Just remember you need SimConnect installed.

I typically use TrackIR mostly during taxi/takeoff and landing/taxi ... during flight I turn it off (pause it) and remove the hat.  If you fly with headphones (I don't) they have an attachment for that which tends to work better than the hat/reflector setup (so I'm told).

Cheers, Rob.

I use the pro clip. I find that it causes no issues.with the sim. Just make sure you read the manual.  It's fairly straight forward to set up though.

Is it worth it? You'll wonder how you ever did without it. I did.

It's a great addon, but takes a little patience to get use to it, but well worth the time. Probably one of the best addons I've bought. I have the Pro version and is easy to install, but watch a couple of the youtube video's showing how to set it up. No problems with addons that I'm aware of and no hit on FPS.

Cheers

I have not had any difficulties with Track IR at all. I definitely think the Pro version with the infrared emitters is preferable.  It works well with P3D 2.4 as well.

Doesn't look like it, it will say on the box in the top right corner when it includes the clip?

I have the TrackIR 4 with the TrackClip PRO and it works great. Be sure to place the receiver at about 1/8th the width of your monitor from the left with the TrackClip Pro (it mounts on the left side of your headset), makes a huge difference in performance of the TrackIR. Considering purchasing the TrackIR 5 receiver, the 4 can get quite hot.

What headset do you use to mount your Pro Clip? And, has yours broken yet?

i can only recommend track IR 5 Pro. It is way more stable when sunlight (IR-Rays)hits a wall in the background . The Immersion is massive, in GA as in Big Stuff. It was one of the best investments i made in fsx. If you have the Saitek Yoke too, map the on/off button and realign button to the clockbuttons on the yoke - very useful. I love the little device...

Yeah, it broke once. Only because I sat on it.  Natural point is a great company with awesome customer service and sent me a new one, free of charge, even though I was out of warranty.
