Hi, 

I have recently purchased Active Sky Next and PMDG777. I have never be able to get the weather radar working, so thought I would see if my Simconnect is working ok..eg, does it connect between ASN and FSX and the PMDG 777 radar. Is there a way to see if this is working ok? what tell's me, "yep, it works ok"? I do know that the weather reports are downloaded to the FSX FMC ok from ASN. 

 

I have FSX. No network(one machine) I use win 7 64 bit

 

With the latest registered version of FSUIPC, it fires up when FSX starts, it's log mentions 

SimConnect_Open succeeded:waiting to check version okay

So, this seems to say SimConnect is working as far as FSUIPC is concerned.

 

I have reinstalled the FSX SDK.

 

 

I have copies of two logs from.USERS,NAME,APPDATA,ROAMING,HIFI,ASN,FSX............ I have no idea what they mean?

If I were to guess, the first log is entirely devoted to getting a connection to SimConnect as well as, perhaps, errors they might receive while using it. 

 

The second log looks like it's broader, also logging actions taken by ASN in terms of connecting to their own weather server out on the internet, building their data, building the themes, gathering information from the sim.

 

In this case, it looks like it started processing, couldn't get a connection for a time (which is shown in your first snippet) but then it got connected and the second log shows that they began to use the connection...started using it to populate weather and gather information.   This looks pretty normal and nothing in it speaks to why the weather radar wouldn't be working.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, when I checked the logs, it seemed different the second time I would start ASN and FSX working. Anyway,  I removed ASN, made sure all references from machine gone, then using the latest version of ASN, (as distinct from updating the earlier version) re-installed it....And the weather radar now works. So, some how the one or both of the programs were corrupted some where.
