January 26, 201511 yr I've always avoided Wide Aspect View ... that setting is just begging for AA issues and shimmering when it's enabled. Cheers, Rob.
January 26, 201511 yr On a multi monitor setting it has to be used. And the image quality is good for my needs. 5950x3d 5.4-5.7 GHz - Asus ROG 870 Crosshair Apex - GSkill Neo 2x 24 Gb 6000 mhz / cas 26 - MSI RTX 5090 Gaming Trio OC - 1x SSD M2 6000 2TB - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 1Tb - Corsair 5400 case - Corsair 360 liquid cooling set - 3x 75’ TCL tv. 13600 6 cores @ 5.1 GHz / 8 cores @ 4.0 GHz (hypterthreading on) - Asus ROG Strix Gaming D - GSkill Trident 4x Gb 3200 MHz cas 15 - Asus TUF RTX 4080 16 Gb - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 2TB - 2x Sata 600 SSD 500 Mb - Corsair D4000 Airflow case - NXT Krajen Z63 AIO liquide cooling - FOV : 200 degrees My flightsim vids : https://www.youtube.com/user/fswidesim/videos?shelf_id=0&sort=dd&view=0
January 26, 201511 yr BTW Denali : did you made any progress on improving your Distortion Fix ? I have 3x 32" and while it is working the scenery is less sharp when using the fix... I really have the desire to keep going, just not the time. I just ordered a laptop/tablet that I am hoping I can keep up with me and just flip open to tinker on it whenever I get a moment. I found the nice 18" laptop isn't that's nice to haul around to flip out and crank code whenever. Of course I always knew that, but for some reason I've had a big screen fetish lately. It must be that for a few years I would not admit that my old eyes need glasses to read and compute now (maybe why I didn't see the graininess right away). At least the extreme stress of last fall has gone away. Worst time of my life. All concerns still ongoing, but now with a manageable plan ... sorta. The 2 big issues are an installation for FSX, and working with LM to fix the graininess. When I install FSX I'm going to probably want help tweaking, lol. January 27, 201511 yr Of course I always knew that, but for some reason I've had a big screen fetish lately. My 49" Sony 4K is used primarily for coding/development ... it's a huge benefit to have VS open, SMSS open (SQL databases), and word doc (specs) -- everything fits so I dont have to do the window shuffle ... makes my tasks much faster and less error prone. Cheers, Rob.
January 27, 201511 yr My 49" Sony 4K is used primarily for coding/development I was interested in a 4k laptop at first, but realized I wouldn't be able to read anything on it. I'm just now admitting I can't see without my glasses. I've gotten used to my three 27" screens. I like to be wrapped. I keep my Nexus 10 and 18" touchscreen laptop on my desk, they sit just below the three screens. If I had a large screen like yours the screen would come below the screens on the desktop or the top part of the beautiful massive 4k screen would force me tilt my head upward which I would not like. I would LOVE that for flight simulation, maybe 3 . But not for work. January 27, 201511 yr I was just thinking about something Rob. I sometimes think it would be helpful to sequester testing staff too, especially from each other AND the developers. Too much group-think. Breaking software should take as much concentration as making it.
