January 31, 201511 yr Hi Folks, I have the above system (only a year old) and currently run FSX with a stable 29fps and relatively smooth performance. Generally only fly in Europe with Orbx, UK2000 etc scenery installed, A319, B738, Dash8. Considering a move the P3D however, I would like some feedback from users of a similar set-up before committing to change. Thanks S Stephen Simpson Systems: Flight System: AMDRyzen7 7800X3D, 32GB DDR, RTX4090,Windows 11. Utilities System: I7 8700K 4.8Ghz,32GB 3000 DDR4 RAM,1x1TB SSD,Geforce GTX1080ti 11GB,Windows 11.
January 31, 201511 yr Try it for a Month - If You like it - buy a full version - if You don't - don't Renew - $10 Bucks - Go have a Hamburger - ( or two ) !! <_< If V2.4 doesn't Work for You - Consider V 1.4 - Better Graphics - More Stable - most of the Kinks have been worked out - and ALL You're FSX Stuff is Transferrable . Good Luck in Your New Carreer !! Johnman
January 31, 201511 yr You can run p3d v2.4 and try it. i have a 770 andcan fly with mid-high settings with 1.5 dsr. i have always 23-25 fps but i have also micro stutter but this no problem for me
January 31, 201511 yr Moderator each system is different even if they are the same cpu. You *should* do just fine. I'd stay away from1.4 - it is no longer supported and you are locked into a situation worse than FSX. You also might consider kicking that clock up a tad - that CPU can easily handle it - not necessary but every bit helps. As others have said - try it yourself and if you are not happy - 60 day refund on the pro & academic or just cancel the developer version at any time. January 31, 201511 yr Author Thanks for the advice. I've been warned by the wife that the computer is not getting upgraded......guess that's me told! February 1, 201511 yr I have a similar system (i7 4770K @ 4.5 GHz, 8GB RAM, GTX 670 2GB) and it handles P3D just fine. Turning up the shadow quality too much can introduce stutters and lag. I'm guessing that upgrading to a better video card might help, but like I said it works fine with the GTX 670 too. -
