Cabin Pressure Warning

Featured Replies

I have done three flight on this bird so far and both times i have been getting the cabin pressure Annunciation warning above about FL310.

I have set the dial at 1000 above crz alt. I still get the Warning... Anyone experience this on this A/C?

Am I setting it wrong?

Thanks....

If this has the correct controller, where it has two windows one for altitude, one for rate... a knob and two buttons labled FL and EXER... then you're doing it incorrectly. You would set the value to landing field elevation + 200ft.

If it doesn't have that controller... then I have no idea what they modeled.

Once again this is Carenado getting the cabin controller wrong. The Pilot Training Manual Pressurization section shows at 30,000' you should have a cabin altitude of around 4,000' which makes sense for a PSID of 8.7. However the Carenado gauge (Gauges_1.dds) has a cabin altitude of around 8,000' for FL300 (a psid of about 4.4)

Thus above FL340 if you set the aircraft altitude side you will get a RED CABIN ALT 10000 warning annunciator. Given Carenado's poor history at fixing the B1900 Cabin Controller (a simple adjustment of the textures) I doubt we will see a fix for the S550.

To set the Cabin controller in the S550 take your cruise altitude, divide by 1/2 and add 1,000. i.e. If I am going to cruise at FL400 then I will set 21,000 on the aircraft altitude side of the controller.

I would make the change myself, but it would require changing 4 set of textures at around 24MB worth of fixes people would have to download. Carenado needs to make and distribute this fix.

Ok thanks for the info..... I will try this tonight...

Its unbelievable how Carenado takes the time to put wear and tear scratches all over the control yoke and weather wear under the wings (both poorly executed and overdone I may add) but they cant take the time to get the crucial systems correct...

Show me an image of the controller please.

As requested.

Real S/II cockpit photo. Looks like the exact same pressurization system to me. I also noticed the same in photos of the II and the Bravo.

Ken, it is the exact same pressure panel for the Citation II, S/II and Citation V. Cessna changed it slightly for the Bravo and XL but it was more cosmetic changes than functional issues.

See Pics of rw Citation II and Citation V.

The third pic is from the ESDG C551. Their panel looks to be based on the same panel, just the rw white swiches have been changed, but probably the two developers based their designs on the same actual panel that we are using.
