DX10 v2.7 FPS

Featured Replies

Hello,

I've noticed some FPS problems with the newest fixer e.g. when I fly with the Aerosoft Airbus. The problem are the shadows in the VC. Can someone tell me how to get better frames with shadows in the VC?

Cheers :)

There is nothing really you can tune.

The cost of VC shadows is always drawing the VC twice, but the first pass (into the shadowmap) isn't antialiased and doesn't use textures so should be relatively light for most people in GPU terms but will cost on the CPU for a payware aircraft.

There are no functional differences between the fixer 2.7 and 2.6 the only real differences are in the GUI.

You can go into the debug screen and revert back to older generations of shadow logic if you want but I doubt that you will find any performance difference

If you have enabled Force VC Walls that has a slight cost.

If you have enabled any of the Legacy Shadow option they may have a small performance cost and shouldn't be left on when using a non legacy aircraft.

Several people have reported odd problems with the Airbus which went away with a reinstall (or the Airbus)

You should also check your settings for effects as if you don't exclude having particulate effects it can cause issues in jets with contrails.
