Would someone please be able to give me a tutorial on how to set custom camera views in FSX. I know you can use Ezdock but I have heard that it is very hard to use. I tried FsRecorder but I was unable to assign a hockey to it.

 

I would ideally like to link a custom view with a hot key eg say f9.

 

I am comfortable editing a cfg file.

 

I downloaded a programme called FscameraX 1.1 which I thought would be ideal,

but every time I started it on my Windows 8 machine it froze (if anyone has managed to get it going on W8 I would dearly like to know how).

I know EZDOC looks intimidating , but it is well worth it. I am a slow learner and not much in reading manuals so I got on You Tube were there are a few excelent videos on how to set up EZDOC. I would pause the video where needed, then take notes. My camera views are keys 5 thru 0, then Shift 6 thru 0, plus I use four buttons on my joystick, plus two toggles. As you can see I'm using about eighteen different camera views that are fixed, plus I can pan with the mouse and the toggle on the joystick. On the mouse you can use the wheel to zoom in and out.That's just my configuration. It really is easier than it looks , you would be glad you did. Trust me , it's not that bad.

When you install it, make sure you right clicked the installation program and selected Run as Administrator.  Windows 8 has a lot more security built into it to save you from evil people so you have to employ additional actions to get a program working properly.  Also, make sure you start up FSX everytime as the Administrator (even if you are the only computer user).
