May 30, 200521 yr I am thinking of purchasing some payware planes and would like to know which ones that you think is the best. thanks
May 30, 200521 yr If you don't actually have an aircraft in mind, then I should start with the hundreds of excellent freeware aircraft available. When you home in on anything you particularly enjoy, then post again and we can all have a good old session determining whether what you choose is best rendered in freeware or payware! May 30, 200521 yr I agree with the above and would add for regional passenger service (or a large family reunion) the following:Flight1's ATR 72-500 Feel There's ERJ 145Also, Flight1's new Pilatus is an excellent all weather performer. All very complete aircraft.Best VC available today - RealAir SF260 (gauge update rates and clarity).Bob... May 30, 200521 yr Moderator You don't say whether you prefer turbo-prop or jet. If you prefer jets I'd recommend two ... PMDG737 and PSS Concorde. Both are seriously advanced aircraft so you'll need to be a medium to advanced user of FS to be able to fly them properly.Cheers, Ray (Cheshire, England). System: P3D v5.3HF2, Intel i9-13900K, MSI 4090 GAMING X TRIO 24G, Crucial T700 4Tb M.2 SSD, Asus ROG Maximus Z790 Hero, 32Gb Corsair Vengeance DDR5 6000Mhz RAM, Win 11 Pro 64-bit, BenQ PD3200U 32” UHD monitor, Fulcrum One yoke, Fulcrum Throttle Quadrant. May 30, 200521 yr There are a pile of awesome payware planes out there - it really comes down to what you like flying. I'm more of a piston engine person, actually that's all I fly in FS now though I used to fly the jets.If you want a jet - the PMDG 737NG's are the best. Go for the full package - it will cost you around $80 but is definately worth it. The database for the FMC is probably the most complete one of all, it's very realistic though a bit hard on the system. For props - I'd recommend either the Dreamfleet Beechcraft Bonanza A36, the Realair sims SF-260 or the MAAMSIM DC-3.
May 30, 200521 yr At the moment I'd have to say my candidate for the overall best is the LDS 767, while it does lack in the sound (they're still better than most) and variety departments (you only get the -300 but you DO get all 3 engine variations), the rest of the pcakage is simply so advanced model-wise, and it's all very subtle, like the independent lighting. All of the lights that should be controlled independently are worked just as they should be, as are their effects on the aircraft itself - and we're not talking some half-baked effects here, it's all in the textures and looks extremely believable. Missi's model itself surpasses my normal expectations of payware airliners in terms of actually being shaped right, and I wouldn't expect any less as he's never disappointed me before. The wing is only flexed in a couple of places, yet it looks so smooth anyway by sheer virtue of how he flexed it (and Frit's wingflex and reverser XML is always a plus as it adds a completely new dimension to most anything).I haven't even begun to immerse myself in the systems yet...
May 30, 200521 yr Author >I am thinking of purchasing some payware planes and would>like to know which ones that you think is the best. thanksThe answer would depend very much of what system you have.A very good plane could be to demanding for your system resources. For example the Flight 1 ATR 72-500 turboprop is from what I haveheard a very good plane but has very high system requirements.
May 30, 200521 yr Author >>FSD Piper Navajo>Do you have other twins from FSD like the Aerostar and Seneca? Ifso how do they compare to the Navajo?
