February 24, 201511 yr Sometimes having too many tweaks can actually cause performance to drop, rather than improve. Aside from the things I posted on the first page, I go pretty light on the tweaks when I was using FSX. Highmemfix=1, AffinityMask=84, and PoolSize=0. Everything else I leave out. With the Steam Edition, I only use AffinityMask=84 as Highmemfix is included, and not needed in the config anymore. Index and vertex buffers have increased, so I don't really need to add the BufferPools tweak. Jeff Thomson
February 24, 201511 yr Bufferpools and Poolsize=0 are the same (I think?). Try running with neither. Cheers, Chris Brand
February 24, 201511 yr There's a little bit of confusion here, seems to me that in these forums are more "gamers" hen "simers".FORGET the frame counter! FSX is about SMOOTH not frames! You 'gamers' need to get a life around that subject and stop telling people that 18-25 smooth frames is BAD. Even though FSX is a '3D render' application it is not a game, does not respond the same to hardware settings as a game and can not be setup and run like a game, it is a SIMULATION. A game uses predefined local maps and controls, FSX is constantly calculating real-time changes. Do not run FSX like a 'game' Think most of you should really read this : http://www.simforums.com/forums/the-fsx-computer-system-the-bible-by-nickn_topic46211.html Artur MunteanuThe secret of life is honesty and fair dealing. If you can fake that, you've got it made!
February 24, 201511 yr Bufferpools and Poolsize=0 are the same (I think?). Yep. As is RejectThreshold=0. Jeff Thomson
