FSUIPC 4.939c seems not working with 2.5.12943 (v2.5+hotfix1)

Featured Replies

Some users are reporting that FSUIPC 4.939c (Peter says that it is even compatible with p3d 2.5.12944) is not working with v2.5 + hotfix1 (build 12943). P3Dv2 crashes at startup.

I got the same problem too.

I removed FSUIPC 4.939c and installed FSUIPC 4.939. It worked fine again.

I made it to work with 12944 (which I thought was being released on Friday last), and made a stupid mistake which caused it to regard 12942 and 12943 as version 2.4 builds! Sorry!

Version 4.939d is now available, and it works with 12942 and 12943 and even 12944 if it sees the light of day!

Pete,

Thanks as usual. Could I ask you a question? If you'd rather I start a thread about this on your official forum i can do that instead.

My question is, would it be possible for you to work with LM so that they could fix the ground friction stuff directly within the P3d code? Just a thought.

LM know all about every hack FSUIPC makes.  I gave them full details long ago. I'd prefer they did this stuff rather than me, as I really don't want to have to make new versions for every update and every hotfix. However, obviously they have different priorities.

I have the same situation with DoveTail and FSX-SE of course. In that case, since FSX-SE updates are automatic, it would make even more sense to make FSUIPC independent of the code internals. DoveTail have the information from me that they need to do this, I just wait to see if they will implement same in due course. Again, it's all a matter of priorities.

After I posted that, I realized that my suggestion probably wasn't practical. Besides, I should have directed the comment at LM on their official message board.

FSUIPC 4939d works well in P3D 12944 "ghost" hotfix.
