June 15, 200520 yr I use KAPA Centinial as my home simming airport too, since I live just a few miles west of there. My real flying days were interupted by a 35 year career in the law, and now I'm retired and can't afford to fly real ones. I have a lot of fun with my simulated aircraft. I only wish I was a better computer technician. But in any event I could never fly a B-24, or a P-51 around the world for real...or a triple 7 or....Richard Richard
June 15, 200520 yr Bill, my own real airplane career was very short. I only soloed a 172, a Piper Colt and the Bonanza. Then my flight instructor was hunting Coyotes in a Super Cub and flew up a box canyon. He had a very "hard landing" that fused both his ankles. Next my Dad died suddenly of a very aggressive cancer and we had to sell the Bonanza. After that, a 35 year legal career interfered. But I do love my Simulator! How else could I fly a B-24 or a P-51 around the world? There was the unfortunate incident last year when my MAAM B-25 ran a little short of fuel about 30 miles Southwest of Guam. It's probably just as well they don't let me play with real ones. Richard Richard
June 16, 200520 yr Hi Richard,I too am retired from a law profession. I flew in my younger years to put myself through college (back when it didn't cost so much). My law profession was a little different though. I was a cop. What did you do in law?I agree. The flightsim thing is the best. Where else could we jump into a vintage Spitfire or a 767 or ??? at our whim. And it is getting so realistic. The weather programs and some of the airplanes are making the experience seem real. I especially like the Aeroworx King Air and the Real Air Spitfire. The LDS 767 is excellent also. And, of course the Flight1 Bonanza. Regards,Bill "A good landing is one you can walk away from. An excellent landing is one you can taxi away from." Bill in Colorado: Retired Comm: ASEL/AMEL/Instrument CFI: ASEL/AMEL/Instrument
June 16, 200520 yr Richard - I am going to be in Littleton for about 6 weeks starting the last couple weeks of July and the month of August. With the exception of a motorcycle trip for 7-8 days I'll be hanging out at my daughter's house on Wadsworth at about Bowles(Grant Ranch). If you would like to get together for coffey or a cold one let me know. It would be fun to meet with another simmer as I can't find anyone around here who's even interested.Bruce
June 16, 200520 yr Bill, I was in the private practice for 5 years, an assistant Attorney general for Wyoming, an Assistant U.S. Attorney, and then Was Appointed United States Attorney for Wyoming by President Reagan. I held that job for 13 years. Most of my friends were cops. After that, I left Law enforcement and went to California for five years as a United States Administrative Law Judge doing medical disability cases for Socical Security in San Jose. We then retired and moved to Denver to be close to Grandkids. I like the King Air, the Lear, and the 737. Add on, I like the MAAM B-25, The wings of Power B-24, B-17, and B-29 and their new P-51 is great. I also like to fly a couple of the Abacus bush planes. I did fly the Lockheed Vega around the world without mishap once. I think it took about 150 hours, and a month of my time but it was fun (thank God for the primitive autopilot).Richard Richard
June 16, 200520 yr Author Well I have a strange connection here. Not only did I fly my Debonair(precurser to bonanza f33a) out to KAPA a few years ago-after an 11 year ownership which ended in January of this year I sold it to a guy who now has it based at Kapa. Please wave to it when you drive by! :-)http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpg Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!

By all means lets do get together for coffee and to chat about simming. We'll be here most of the summer except for a few days in August when we have to go to a wedding in Wahington D.C. Email me at [email protected] and we'll set it up to get together. :-) Richard Richard

I might just do that! I already wondered where to go because it would be nice to actually see something interesting outside the window (it's that I live in the Netherlands, otherwise I'd never ever fly there... ;)). And yes, indeed, OF COURSE I'll be flying the DF Beech A36! ;) I don't need anything else for a long, long time! :)
