Aerosoft A318/319 mouse wheel accelerator?

Featured Replies

Very nice though the Aerosoft Airbus is, I'm finding it a little frustrating tuning the auto throttle speed and heading bug. Both are tied solely to the mouse wheel operation. Problem is if one needs to set heading bug from say 360 degrees to 180 degrees it takes ages because there is no scroll wheel acceleration. Similar with the a/t speed setting. It takes endless wheel scrolls to just go from the default 100 knots to say 250 knots.

PMDG intelligently apply an accelerator function so the more vigorously you scroll the greater the increments. Works very well. This doesn't appear to be possible on the Airbus, according to the Aerosoft forums.

Does anyone have any ideas? I want to avoid the complications of fiddling around with Linda-type addons, Thanks for any suggested solutions.

Get the RealAir Turbine Duke mate, it has a "drag" function that works really slick for large adjustments to HDG and CRS!

Probably not the best suggestion ever, Robert, but still:

MCE and the FS2Crew Airbus edition offer "voice-to-autopilot" voice commands like "Set heading to xxx".

EDIT: Jim has beaten me to it with his way superior idea!   :P

But seriously folks, does anyone have a solution apart from spending hours wading through Aerosoft's xml coding?

This may be a stupid reply but does anything happen if you right click the knobs/numbers? On at least one a/c I have (QW757) right clicking increases the numbers by a larger amount than default.

Unfortunately I have a feeling it is solely tied to the mouse wheel as you say.

Right and Left buttons have other vital functions on the airbus. Only the mouse wheel can be used.
