My new rig and some questions

Featured Replies

Sorry if this is in the wrong area.

I have been an avid FS9'er for many years and my old rig passed away a few months ago. it wasn't the most powerful rig in the world but I had added many add one and tweaked things here and there and it ran to an acceptable level.

So, I have bought a new rig, specs below

AMD Piledriver FX-6 Black edition 6 core at 3.90GHz CPU

NVidia GeForce GTX960 2048MB GDDR5 GPU

16GB DDR3 1600MHz memory

Now the questions:-

I've loaded Fs9 and made the changes to the display settings. I've then gone to the NVdia control panel to do some tweaking there too. I can't seem to get rid of jaggies in the scenery. Anyone got any suggestions for the settings I should try in the NVidia control panel?

In my old set up I remember adjusting some of the config settings. That was in XP and I've now got Windows 7 64bit. Can someone tell me a) where I can find the config files and b) any suggestions as to the changes I should be making?

Any advice welcome.

Still can't find the config file.

There are two showing, one is cascading style sheet document which I can open but it isn't the one I need to adjust. The other is a Jscript script. File which I can't open.

Any help appreciated.

In Win7/64 FS9 config file(cfg) is found at-

Users/your name/AppData/Roaming/Microsoft/FS9

Suggest you make a back-up copy before altering the .cfg file.   B)

Just ride this and I don't have an AppData file in Users/Tony/

Any clues?

Thanks

You need to show hidden folders.

just click the start button , bottom left of your screen, ant type "hidden folders" into the box imediately above it. This will bring up the folder options settings box.

Thanks to all who have offered help.

I was fine in the XP era but Windows 7 is a different ball game.

Have a great weekend all
