Possible MDMAX customers: ATTENTION!

Featured Replies

In an announcement of their FMS add-on, MDMax (www.mdsuper80.com; known for their professional MD Super 80 panel) stated that the VNAV function is blocked until one earns 200 points (what means that only after practise on more "traditional instruments", one is allowed to use VNAV).Since this is not clearly visible on the MDMax pages, I want to make possible customers aware of this fact. This should not shy people away from purchasing MDMax products, since at least their base panel are top class and highly recommended.Andreas

Hi,Sadly there is a clear "laugh at the customers back" pattern from the MDMax Team.1. Releasing a basic panel in January, cost = 29.99 Euro 2. Claiming that the FMS would be released in February, cost = 14.99 Euro3. Aircraft external 3D mode with basic liveries, would be released in March, cost = 9.99 EuroThis is the current situation today:1.The MDMax Team announces that the FMS is close to release (should be released in February). The cost is still 14.99 Euro, but now it suddenly will have a block for VNav for simmers below 200 points. This was announced June 14th !!!! This means that the MDMax Team will monitor your knowledge regarding basic navigation before you will be "alowed" to use VNav !!??2. Still no word regarding the "Aircraft external 3D mode with basic liveries" (should be released in March). I wonder how many points we will need to have the prevelidge to get access to that, after we paid 9.99 Euro! Now, what I really wonder is,...if the MDMax team now claims that this is a highly professional flightsim addon,...why on earth do they market it as a point collecting game?? :-rollSo, beware all fellow simmers, before you purchase this addon. ;-)Lets make one thing clear though,..The basic panel is a great addon. But please MDMax Team,..don

Where is the reference to points? I haven't been able to find it.I'd be shy of buying the cockpit until the FMS module is available. No disrepect, but "there's many a slip..."

Look in their support forum. There they state that the use of VNAV is allowed only after you erned 200 points by using the panel and adding bonus points to something like a pilot's account (stored locally). That means you need to do a lot of flying and practizing with the MDMax panel to get the required ranking to unlock VNAV.So, if you plan to buy the MDMAx panel, be warned that VNAV is NOT OPERATIONAL in the first place!Only after you climbed up the ladder, you can use it.Andreas

One more thing to think about:It's still unanswered by MDMax what happens in the case of a hard drive crash, re-install etc.As it looks now, no matter how hard you've worked to earn your points, after a hardware disaster, you start at point 0 again...Andreas

I've mailed them asking for a refund, let's see what they answer (currently, if they don't agree, I'm in the right mood to hand this ridiculous EUR 29,99 case over to my attorney if only to set an exemplary case; I'm done with all these arrogant, childish better-knowers taking money and don't communicate appropriately)...Andreas

Thanks. However as I'm not registered (and don't intend to register) I still can't see it.IF MDMax want to make this a condition they should state it up-front - not conceal it in a forum deceptively. This must surely be in breach of trading standards anywhere, certainly UK ones.I went through their sales process to find that if I pay an extra

Sounds like a good idea to me; release it a bit at a time and make a charge for each part.We must be bloody stupid to be giving this away for free as part of the 727 update :-smile12And this is only a small part of the update.....the best is yet to come!http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/119708.jpghttp://www.dreamfleet2000.com/gfx/images/F...BANNER_PAUL.jpg

Given that it includes 7 new (read that as extra as these are in addition to what was already released) aircraft models (plus the freighter versions), plus the new flight models, plus the new liveries, plus the new documentation and performance tables and not forgetting a small gauge update too........then yes I think we must somewhat stupid. In fact the update actually more than doubles what was originally released with the cockpits being about the only shared feature, although even they have some small differences......like the Super 27's all have the no.2 engine reverser handle removed.Best stop it there as this is the wrong thread to discuss this :-)http://www.dreamfleet2000.com/gfx/images/F...BANNER_PAUL.jpg

Received the mail from MDMax, no surprise: forget about refunds! The whole cause isn't worth wasting my nerves (and any additional effort), I'll keep the panel (it's great, so what) and let go.Let's see what the future brings (there's still DF with their 727 - drool)...Andreas

When buying addons I made a few mistakes, and MDMax is on top of my list.I sincerely regret having payed money for this panel: they promised a lot and delivered only a little.I'm really amazed how they treat their customers. In the FS98 era, the Maddog panel was the best available, it was the FS98 'PIC767'.Currently they are just making fake promises and delivering nothing.
