I received a note from Paypal that AVSIM had cancelled my automatic donation to AVSIM.  Anyone know the reason behind this?

I received a similar email today in relation to my donation which will be a year old on 25 April.

 

I assumed that the PayPal email was merely a confirmative reflection of Tom's statement that there would not be an automatic renewal associated with donations - see http://forum.avsim.net/topic/436579-new-donation-system-now-online/#entry2941009

That is exactly correct. When we set the system up, we inadvertently set the auto renewal to "on" and that was not the intent. So we started to get cancellation notices and decided that we had to go in and cancel all the future renewals that were about to occur. If you get a auto renewal now, please let us know ASAP and don't allow the renewal to take place.
