FMS INIT REF Transition altitude bug

Featured Replies

Hello,

After installing the SP1D update (as per Kyle recommandations) and the latest update (March 30th), I still get a bug with the transition altitude input in the INIT REF page. It sticks to the same value and does not take account of the value set in the aircraft profile.

This bug was not there prior SP1D update.

Any insight ?

Best regards,

Alex

According the the FCOM, a manual entry of a value in this field has priority over preset values.  Maybe it's working the way it's supposed to?

Yeah. It's not a bug, actually - it's a collision.

You can set a default in the aircraft profile, but you can also set the value in the panel state. This is desirable in order to be able to set a default for the aircraft, but also something you'd want to be able to save in a panel state so that you could resume a flight with that aircraft without causing any issues. When it came to deciding which one of those values "won," it was decided that the panel state should win out.

What you're seeing is the panel state overriding the aircraft defaults. The best course of action is to not load from a panel state and then shut things down to the level you'd like and then save a new panel state for that aircraft.
