Reactivation Again

OK - I have tried all the solutions proposed in these forums, but am still having the "reactivation" problem.  I believe I have had it for several years since I tried to install Acceleration, but ignored it then as I did not think I really needed Acceleration.  Now, after messing around with my FSX program, it has reoccurred and will keep telling me my "trial period" is over, and shutting down.

Is there any final, good way to solve this problem ???  I have not tried contacting Microsoft, as I understand they do not support FSX any more.  I could uninstall and reinstall the program, but would like to find some simpler way to fix this.

Thanks for any help.

I think your best option is to re-install flight simulator, its always good to do a fresh install of fsx regularly anyway since fsx doesn't cache things well so needs to be refreshed. When you activate FSX, make sure caps lock isn't on as fsx will say the code is wrong, even though caps on and off both look the same in the activation window.

Hope this helps,

Rupert

I have tried all suggestions - still no joy.

I have not tried phone activation, as I can not seem to find a number to call.  I never get the Activation Wizard that is supposed to give me the numbers.  Any suggestions on finding this number ?

I also tried creating another User Account and installing from there - did not work.

I have FSX installed on a separate, dedicated internal hard drive.

I have never been able to install Acceleration, even from the beginning.

I do not have a product ID from the About screen.  I do, of course, have the original discs with Product Key.

If I am not able to activate by phone, my next step seems to be to delete all files from the dedicated FSX drive, TRY to delete all references to FSX from the Registry, and reinstall FSX there.

If none to that works, I guess SE is the solution.

Thanks for all suggestions.

Steffen - I did not get a completed  install to the other Account - nothing appeared saying that I had installed FSX.  However, there were some files installed on the D: drive.  I did not pursue it further.  Maybe I should have gone further and looked to see if there was an executable file installed on the disc ?

How about my idea of just completely wiping the D: drive and trying again to install FSX there ?
