April 15, 201511 yr I'm on Windows 8.1 so I wasn't really thinking properly in my considerations. If you are using Windows 7 then this is a limitation of Windows 7. You can only extend a volume with unallocated space that is located to its right. If so then you'll need to turn to a third party application. I recommend EASEUS Partition Master Home Edition which is free though there are many more. i7 7700k, @ 4.6Ghz. GTX1070 8Gig. 32Gigs DDR4 2400. Win 10 pro. X-Plane 11.
