Removing Default Aircraft from FSX

I understand not to remove or move them...my question related to the fix noted in post #2 to this thread (see above) wherein it appears Diego_Costa is saying to rename a folder within the aircraft.cfg file.  I believe he just suggests renaming the panel folder itself...but before I try that and screw things up I wanted to clarify the procedure.

Don't rename anything. Just open your aircraft.cfg  file in every plane you want not show and change to  panel=hide in in every livery.It's all.

Or just rename the aircraft.cfg to aricraft.bak in the folder and the aircraft won't show up at all but it won't mess up the file structure.
