June 29, 200520 yr I have noticed a line in the sky and I am not sure if it is my monitor or my sim. I just put in my new monitor and it has worked great until I have noticed this line. Maybe you can help me decipher this.
June 29, 200520 yr I'd say it is your monitor. Do this: Get another monitor, hook it up to your computer. If the line is gone, you know it is your new monitor, not FS.-=MAB=- Mike Brown
June 29, 200520 yr Hi,Make sure you are running in 32 bit color.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
June 29, 200520 yr er, I'm pretty sure if it was your monitor the issue wouldn't show up at all in screen shots (not when we view them on our monitors anyway). It's more likely video card-related...

Maybe you can>help me decipher this.>>I have the same line Kurt on a 22" iiyama Vision Master Pro 514.From the iiyama Manual:- "The two faint horizontal lines that may be visible on the screen are actually the shadows of steel wires called Damper Wires. All Diamondtron U3-CRT based monitors have these wires for structural reasons."Four iiyama monitors, I have used, all have the same lines but I think this only applies to CRT monitors not the TFT type.Shep
June 29, 200520 yr I've also got a problem :(My problem is related to the monitor. It obviously doesn't show up in screenshots :-lol. However, I took a picture of the screen, and this is what I got:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/120990.jpgSee that dark area on the right hand side of the screen? Quote from MS Flight Team Lead: "We’ve made some guesses"
June 29, 200520 yr Hi,I would say damper wire.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
June 29, 200520 yr Yup, monitor! I have a new 22" Viewsonic with the same two wires. I e-mailed Viewsonic and they explained that they are there by design!!
June 29, 200520 yr I still can't see ( :( ) how monitor lines can show up in a screenshot guys?? That's like saying if my monitor is dirty, and I take a screenshot, the dirt will show up in the screenshot! No, we're looking at something generated within the computer, either in-game or graphic card, etc.-JeremyThe Ozark DogfighterHappy Flying!
June 29, 200520 yr Yes, short of taking a picture of the screen with a digi cam monitor issues won't be seen in a screen shot...
June 30, 200520 yr <> I have the same line on a Dell (Sony)22". Excusing a FLAW as being put there "by design" is about the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard of.It is a LINE that is NOT intended to be portrayed by the person/entity that created the image being displayed and therefore, is a FLAW.Nothing we can go about it I guess.)-:
June 30, 200520 yr These lines help to stabalize the picture on flat screen monitors. Flat screen TV's have them to, but they are indistingushable on larger picture tubes. Devin CYOW
July 1, 200520 yr Hey ya'all,Thanks for the new info. And I thought the faint lines meant I got a bum used monitor from eBay. Most of the time I dont notice the lines like I did when I first got my Dell Trinitron.Matt
July 1, 200520 yr I have two horizontal lines on my monitor... and at first I did notice it -- now I'm used to it I really don't notice it anymore
