May 6, 201511 yr I have been doing some test flight in this bird just to get used to the systems and to get a grasp on the bugs that need to be addressed. Problem is: I have yet to get the GPS Glidslope indicator to appear and the aircraft has yet to follow the GPS Glideslope from the approach Alt. >My setting and Sequence: >HDG Mode - Vector TO final. >KTPA - GPS 1R Approach load into FMS. >Alt Hold at approach plate altitude. >Intercept localizer and click NAV (have to press twice) - "FMS APPR" displays in the Pro-Line screen - It does capture the localizer. >The Glidscope should be active and visible at this point - It is not and the aircraft does not decend? I have the NAV source set to FMS. I am using V1.1. What am I missing?
May 7, 201511 yr I could be wrong, but I highly doubt Carenado coded the FMS to auto-switch modes from FMS to Nav when you pre-load an ILS. NAV source should be Nav 1 or Nav 2 as necessary. DB

You're not going to get a glideslope on any GPS approach in the Carenado Hawker - the only time the glideslope will appear is on a true ILS approach. Now, the actual KTPA GPS 1R approach IS an LPV procedure, meaning that an aircraft suitably equipped with WAAS GPS equipment can fly this approach as if it had a glideslope - but I'm quite sure the Carenado aircraft does not emulate WAAS in any way. WAAS capability is available for r/w Proline 21 equipped Hawkers, but it a very expensive option, and I don't think all that many 850 XPs have it. May 7, 201511 yr Author I was under the assumption that Navigraph databased addons have WAAS... The F1 Mustang did.... This is not so good?????
May 7, 201511 yr I was under the assumption that Navigraph databased addons have WAAS... The F1 Mustang did.... This is not so good????? The Navigraph database itself contains information about WAAS-enabled approaches for those airports that have them, but it is up to the developers of specific add-on aircraft to build in WAAS capability to the FMS and autopilot. Just using a WAAS database in an add-on aircraft won't automatically make WAAS approaches work. Carenado is highly skilled at making very good looking aircraft models and cockpits, but their developers do not have the knowledge to build complex, realistic autopilots or FMS functions like PMDG or Eaglesoft. As far as I can see, Carenado is simply using the default FSX GPS engine as the core of their simulation, with some graphics mods to give it the look and feel of a Proline 21 display system. And, as I mentioned, the great majority of real Hawker 850s do NOT have WAAS capability. Adding that function to a real Proline 21 system is extremely expensive.
