July 4, 200520 yr Iis this the future of Flight Siming - see screenshots of short final to YSSY runway 34L and from about 2000 feet looking across Sydney to the aiport. These were taken using Google earth.Bruceb Bruce Bartlett Frodo: "I wish none of this had happened." Gandalf: "So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us."
July 4, 200520 yr Looks good. Not as good as France VRR (http://www.francevfr.com/) for FS2004, though :-lolI see no reason why a central "scenery server" could not be used in the future, to which all FS users would connect and download high-res (as in e.g. .5m/pixel) photoreal scenery for the entire world (where coverage is provided). -
July 6, 200520 yr I was even more impressed when I explored the Mt Bushwalker area of the Budawangs Ranges just north of Pigeon House(sandstone cliffs and gorge area south of Sydney) - see this attachment. Doesn't look quite as good as the original as I have cut down the file size to meet AVSIM's requirements.Bruceb Bruce Bartlett Frodo: "I wish none of this had happened." Gandalf: "So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us."
