May 19, 201511 yr I have had FSX in one version or another since about the year it came out (2006 I think?) and over the years I've mainly kept many of the things I have downloaded or purchased. Now I'd like to rid myself of things that are obsolete, or I just don't need anymore (like version 1 of PMDGs 737 NGX, instead of having all of them up to this point.) My question is, is there something out there for double file removal? Also it would be nice if there were something specifically for looking for FSX type things and telling which was the most recent.
May 19, 201511 yr Maybe there is such a tool, but man, I think you are so much better off just cleaning things up by hand. If you start using some automated tool to decide what you want to keep and what you don't it sounds like a formula for trouble.
May 19, 201511 yr There are a couple of utilities on avsim library that may help, although one is originally for FS2004, but may work with fsx too. http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fs2004util&DLID=86251 http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fsxutil&DLID=175722 Stuart

Doing it by hand one-at-a-time may be a real pain but it's the only way to insure that you'll avoid all the potential disasters. May 19, 201511 yr Author Well.. I'm going to do it by hand, I'd just like some kind of program that does the searching for me, so I can see if it's something I want to keep or not before I happily delete it.
