May 27, 201511 yr I've gotten this to work in the past, though I can't fathom what is causing it to do this now. I have the option clicked where it asks "do nothing" under the muting options for programs when not on top. So what else is there to do?
May 27, 201511 yr Although I don't use FSX-SE, just the normal FSX, I have had this problem with RC a few times. Each time, though, it is nothing to do with RC but is Windows. Somehow programs or key clicks can mute or turn down the Windows sound itself. Have you checked Control Panel sound to ensure that the settings are OK? Also check that the tray loudspeaker icon is showing 100% for RC. Intel i7 6700K @4.3. 32gb Gskill 3200 RAM. Z170x Gigabyte m/b. 28" LG HD monitor. May 27, 201511 yr Author That was the first thing I checked. I had a brief almost flight where it worked perfectly but don't know what it was I did. I can't get it to repeat like that. Thanks for the response though.
May 27, 201511 yr The setting in FS9 is something like do not pause on task switch. I assume that is what you mean. If I alt-tab to another app or bring it up with a hot key RC keeps running. Also remember that RC will stall if you do not acknowledge a command (and it will not recognize if you cross a route waypoint). RC feeds directly to the .wav input (via DX audio) in your Windows mixer. Remember that RC wants to see COM 1 switched up in your aircraft audio selector and the correct frequency on com 1. If any of your add-on crew type apps autoswitch audio frequencies or selection that could interfere. One of the crew type apps has a setting to manually edit into one of its config files to indicate you are using RC to avoid conflict.
