August 27, 201510 yr Although a long time user of FSUIPC, I am unsure what are the functions of FSUIPC that are required by PMDG 777 and why. Is it acceptable to not use FSUIPC at all? What effects would this have on the use of PMDG 777? August 27, 201510 yr Commercial Member Although a long time user of FSUIPC, I am unsure what are the functions of FSUIPC that are required by PMDG 777 and why. None, unless you want to use it for various external reasons. As an example, you can use FSUIPC as a keystroke mapper, which can send key commands from hardware to the 777. Is it acceptable to not use FSUIPC at all? Yes. We use SimConnect for our sim functions. Kyle Rodgers
August 27, 201510 yr Hi Richard... the only reason I still use FSUIPC is I like to display current VAS remaining with it; otherwise, I'd remove it as unnecessary for my needs. I need keystroke mapping for my stick/throttle controller but instead of FSUIPC I use the software that came with the hardware. Dan Downs KCRP
August 28, 201510 yr eeehm....quite a lot of addons DO need FSUIPC. Not sure if this true for FSX SE as well, but for FSX box certainly. So if you use the PMDG777 only....then sure, get rid of FSUIPC. If you have other stuff too, and you remove FSUIPC, then stuff might stop working. If things are working fine.....then dont mess with it! Rob Robson
August 28, 201510 yr Just as true for FSX-SE. Not just addons. Many VAs use FSUIPC to get data for flight reports.
August 28, 201510 yr Author Thank you, gentlemen. I should have said that I am solely P3Dv2.5 and do not belong to a VA. It appears that I am correct in using FSUIPC only for recording saves during my flights.
