no dialog boxes in full screen in windows 10

Featured Replies

I have FSX Gold a fresh reformat and install of windows 10

and a fresh install of FSX Gold

When I'm full screen I can see the menus, but no pop up dialog boxes UNLESS I'm in windowed mode, than all is good.

any fix or something I'm not doing?

thanks

I ran into this same issue. I was able to fix by enabling DX10 Preview. Maybe DX9 is not installed on Win10...

Just a guess...

The dx9 run times are installed with Win 10.

mmm.. ok then well I can just go back and forth between windowed/fullscreen mode then.

Ciao!

Regardless of the status of DX9 in Win10, Enabling DX10 works for me. Why not give it a try and let us know if it works for you.  (that is of course as long as you have no other reason not to use DX10)

if I do that, won't that screw up my other scenery?

Ciao!

If it does, you can go back to DX9. I think if you can confirm that the dialog box issue is tied to DX9 then it at least points to a cause and someone in the community who is savvy in this area may be able to address this problem.

DX10 anti-aliasing is rather poor, it results in shimmering scenery and cockpit, it really kills the immersion in my opinion. I have none of these problems in DX9 with 4xS and 4xSGS selected in Nvidia Inspector, it makes scenery and cockpit look SUBSTANTIALLY better and I can't say that it affects my frame rates, but then again, my card is rather fast.

exactly. I'LL JUST pop in and out of windowed mode, so far I'm making it work.

This issue is due to Windows 10's Desktop Window Manager, so it can only be fixed by Microsoft.
