September 21, 201510 yr Lately I've been thinking about adding the NGX considering the forward support for that product as we enter the next chapter of P3D. I have the iFly, I really enjoy it. I know that it doesn't look as good, or sound as good, but I'm okay with that as I have the T7 from PMDG. I'm wondering though, systems wise and procedurally, am I missing out on too much to ignore? Please understand again if you care to contribute that I don't care about the textures. James McLees
September 21, 201510 yr Commercial Member No one has 3.0... so how could they possibly discuss this?? Ed Wilson Mindstar AviationMy Playland - I69
September 21, 201510 yr Author Yeah.. lol..beer glass up.. I'm considering it because we are going that direction and I would add it then...I don't know if Flight1 will support the iFly in 3.0 but my guess is that they will. Anyway, the question stands, is the NGX that much better from a piloting perspective? James McLees
September 22, 201510 yr Not sure about ifly..but NGX set a gold standard for flight simulation when it was made and is still revered by many..one should possibly have it if you are more into flying airliners Thanks,Pankaj Dekate
September 22, 201510 yr PMDG promised : Some have expressed concern about forward compatibility with LM version changes. We have already indicated that our current product licensing will carry you through at least v3.x and x64bit conversion, which we anticipate taking place in v3.x... based on publicly available information.) I am unable to predict what will happen beyond this, but at that point we are likely a good 2 years out and we will evaluate what is fair for the marketplace at that time. http://www.avsim.com/topic/461729-08feb15-p3d-pricing-policy-some-facts-on-this-issue/?p=3173088 So, I would say that means no further charge for 737 in P3D v3 .... I'm right? is the NGX that much better from a piloting perspective? I can't say from a pilots perspective and I do not own the iFly. But a (now retired) flight engineer which was on countless test flights for 737 (the "normal" checks after maintenance, not developing test flights) had both versions, PMDG and iFly. He said that iFly is in many aspects off the books or incomplete. Not real bugs, no show stoppers, but some things are simply not correct. PMDG covered them all, even non normal situations (as he tried to reproduce his test flights) Guenter Steiner -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Betatester for: A2A, LORBY, FSR-Pillow Tester --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
September 22, 201510 yr So, I would say that means no further charge for 737 in P3D v3 .... I'm right? That is my understanding also. Cheers, Rob.
