I was advised to turn Antialiasing FXAA to on in Nvidia control panel thus making the in-game setting impactless on actual performance/visuals.

Well, after downloading UHD textures for norway, and tweaking some settings it did got better, thanks for help.

 

Ultimately though, I got frustrated with Norway's lack of good airports and decided to migrate my flying to GB area. I am in progress of downloading GBPro (World2Xplane) and Alpilotx's HD textures for Great Britian region. 

Alpilotx does not have textures but a very good current mesh. there are no textures available for xplane to my knowledge. GB Pro is excellent.

 

For airports in Norway I can suggest try .org , or there is a site for Norway but I think it is for Fsx / FS9 and see if you can convert those using FS2Xplane.

As far as I understand, it's okay to combine both GB Pro + Alpilotx's mesh strictly for GB region, right?

Yes you can use them both together
