Would these specs run FSX perfectly?

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

I am hoping to buy a PC with the following specs.

Would this run FSX and addons with no issue and good FPS?

-Intel® i5-750 Processor 4 cores, 4 threads (8M Cache, 2.66 GHz) + Xigmatec PWM 12cm Kuhler------

-Corsair F60 Force 60GB SSD SATA III 6GB/s (for system)

- Seagate Barracuda 1TB Hard Drive 64mb cache, 7200RPM, SATA II 6GB/s (for storage)------

- Kingston HyperX 8 GB 1600MHz DDR3 RAM = 2x4GB in dual channel memory configuration (up to 16GB allowed)

-Motherboard ASUS P7P55D premium, 2x Pci-E 2.0, Crossfire or SLI support

-Dedicated Graphics Cards XFX HD 7950 Ghost, 3 GB GDDR5 With HDMI, Display-Port and two DVI Ports(up to 4 monitors)

-OCZ ZS Series 650 Watt power supply

Appreciate your help in advance.

Ahhh it would be ok - maybe 18-20 fps with addons

Looks kind of outdated. The i5 750 is a Lynnfield chip from 2009.

First of all nothing runs FSX, FSX-SE or P3D perfectly.  All you can do is throw as much hardware as you can at it and try to get as close to a level of performance you can live with.  I would suggest your minimum starting point should be a i2500K chip and a good Nvidia Card (780 or 970).

The newer GPUs tend to give FSX more smoothness.

With all you are spending for SSDs, video card, why go so dated on the processor, MB, and memory? Sort of like dropping a Miata engine into a Porsche.
