November 26, 201510 yr I have just noted that the REX guys are offering 50% discounts on some products in the Black Friday sales. I would be tempted to purchase REX4 Texture Direct at the sale price.....if I knew for certain that it would solve my neverending problem with static water textures in P3D. I was rather hoping that upgrading to P3D v3 would solve this problem, but it has not. I am sure that many REX4 users will say that they have visible movement and wave animations up to several thousand feet, but unfortunately that does not convince me that the same will be true on my PC. I use REX Essential Plus SP3 at the moment, and this was also supposed to have been tweaked to solve this problem, but I have seen no evidence of that in either P3D v2.4 or P3D v3. I seem to be destined to suffer from static and bland looking water textures in P3D for all eternity Christopher Low AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU / 64GB DDR5-6000 RAM / 12GB Nvidia RTX 4070 Super GPU / Gigabyte X870E Aorus Elite Wifi 7 / 1+2TB Samsung Evo Plus M2 Nvme UK2000 Beta Tester

November 26, 201510 yr Author I have posted here, on the LM P3D forum, and also the REX forum, but I don't seem to be getting anywhere. I really can't understand why it isn't working for me. To be honest, the water was rubbish in FSX when I tried DX10 mode on my old PC. Nothing has come close to the REX enhanced water effects that I enjoyed in FSX DX9 mode. It makes me wonder whether other users really are seeing moving textures and animated wave action, or whether they just need to visit SpecSavers <_< Christopher Low AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU / 64GB DDR5-6000 RAM / 12GB Nvidia RTX 4070 Super GPU / Gigabyte X870E Aorus Elite Wifi 7 / 1+2TB Samsung Evo Plus M2 Nvme UK2000 Beta Tester
November 26, 201510 yr Commercial Member I have REX4 and this is what I have done. In REX4 I included the "Photorealistic" setting in my theme. I think this setting is much better than the default P3D as the default displays the water to have waves that are too large. I also selected a wave animation setting within REX4. Within P3D I set my water detail to Ultra and set tessellation all the way to the right (highest setting). Within my weather in P3D, I designated a higher wind setting so the waves are a bit more pronounced and as I fly above the water, I do see some good movement of the water, but it does not do anything a few thousand feet above. Best of luck. REX AccuSeason Developer REX Simulations
