What's this small white square on the top left corner in P3D?

Featured Replies

I notice sometimes I have a small white square located on the top left of my P3D window when in full screen. Sometime its there and sometime its not.

What exactly is it and how do I get rid of it. I tried to click and move it and I can resize it and all, but its just a big white window with nothing. It's very distracting.

Do you see this only when running PMDG aircraft - specifically the NGX or 777? If so, it is a minimum size (1x1) window that is related to the custom code PMDG uses to make their panel work. It HAS to be present, though I don't know the underlying programming logic connected to it.

If you see it in other aircraft, I'm not sure what it might be.

Ahhh I see yes I see it when using PMDG aircraft, but now I made the window too big and I can't make it small again. :( Sigh

Any ideas how to reset it back to default?

Not sure - a question for the PMDG forum...

Right click on that thing, untick 'unlock window' if it is ticked, then you can make it small. Or, right click on that window, undock it, and you are free to move it.

This was just brought up a few weeks ago- http://www.avsim.com/topic/477231-window-on-the-top-left-corner/?fromsearch=1

As mentioned in that post it's a sensor built into the PMDG aircraft and it's best to just leave it alone as it was put there on purpose for aircraft functionality.

If you need more detail on what it does you'd be best to talk to PMDG about it, more specifically open a support ticket as the fellow in the linked thread opened a topic on their forum but no one from PMDG responded.

You can also do a search and find more about it. After you fly the planes long enough you'll get used to it and won't even notice it.
