December 6, 201510 yr Moderator What if we're not Jewish Aharon? I'm not but Happy Chanukah! I always thought Chanukah was spelled with an H, like Hanukkah. Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
December 6, 201510 yr I always thought Chanukah was spelled with an H, like Hanukkah. Either is correct: they are alternate spellings, with one a transliteration of the original Hebrew ("chanukah") and the other a reflection of approximate pronunciation in English ("hanukkah"). See here for an explanation. Joel Murray @ CYVR (actually, somewhere about halfway between CYNJ and CZBB)
