My First OOM with Prepar3d 3.0

Featured Replies

Had my first OOM with Prepar3d 3.0 last night.  Was doing a flight from Sydney to San Francisco and found that I had run out of memory when I got up this morning.   Bummer.    Was using Fly Tamp YSSY and FlightBeam SFO HD.  I also have ORBX Au installed.  Must say that I was surprised as I have done this flight before with no issues.  The only thing that I did differently was that I left my PMDG 777 sitting at the gate for a couple of hours before I started the flight.  Don't know if this would make a difference at all....Any thoughts?

Hi Steve,

As I said in another post, I got an OOM flying the Milviz Baron from San Carlo to San Francisco with Orbx N.California and KSFO HD.

I did the same flight 3 times, 3 OOMs.

I have a watercooled [email protected] , 32Gb Corsair low latency RAM and a GTX 980Ti 6 Gigas.

The computer is stable, passing all tests flawlessly.

I can reproduce same OOMs flying around London airport with FTX England.

Flying out of ORBX regions but with Orbx Global enabled I never had OOMs with P3D v3 so far, even with complex airports, heavy weather and PMDG planes.

Pity because I really love ORBX airfields and airports but already from P3D v1 I am having this kind of troubles on different machines and can't believe their softwares are free from bugs causing memory leaks.

I have tried both HT on and off.

I have tried with and without AM to no avail.

Have you disabled the marinas and cranes in NCA? I think there's an option now in the P3D v3 installer.

Sorry for hijacking this thread.

No Ryan, I didn't know about this option.

Will try and report. Fingers crossed!

Thanks anyway.

Not sure I have NCA, but I'll check...Thanks

I just did KSFO-RJAA with the PMDG 777, FB SFO and WC NRT. I have Global+Vector and had NCA active. Higher (not ultra) settings and I didn't OOM. Flew at 4x speed since I had stuff to do that day but it's my understanding the V3 alleviates this by releasing the memory so am I correct in the thinking that if I was going to OOM it would've been in SFO or departing?

Flown a bunch of flights so far and haven't had an issue. I think I'll try something like CPH-LHR in the NGX and see how that goes with FTX England active.
