September 9, 200520 yr Commercial Member Gentlemen:Has anyone purchased this product? The preview package is in the avsim library now. I am wondering if this is any good. I also wonder if it works with all seasons and if it conflicts with UT USA. Does it also affect any other scenery add-ons.Sorry for my stupidity :(Thanks so muchTim Tim FuchsManaging PartnerREX SIMULATIONS website: www.rexsimulations.comsupport: www.rexaxis.com
September 9, 200520 yr Hi Tim!I have UNE + UT (terrain) + UT (traffic)! To me, so far, no problems using UNE!I make most of my flights from KORD and it seems as if both the airport itself and the Chicago city have much better looks with UN pro as well at dusk as at night! And the enlightened cities at night are well worth the small amount of money!(But I have just made a couple of flights from KORD in summer!)So far, so good! I am happy with it!Haraldh
September 9, 200520 yr Another freeware goes payware.Mini review- Yellowish lights look less yellow and more of em.
September 9, 200520 yr The textures have a brightness to the whole image and does not seem to have much contrast. When I first saw the textures in my sim, it reminded me of ,FS2000 default textures for night. I am not satisfied with the product at all.Infact, I am deleting it off my system.
September 9, 200520 yr Commercial Member 2 bad reviews and 1 good. Any others?RegardsTim Tim FuchsManaging PartnerREX SIMULATIONS website: www.rexsimulations.comsupport: www.rexaxis.com
September 9, 200520 yr I've got it and really like it.It's perfectly compatible with UT that uses its own textures, and it covers the whole world.Towns and cities look nice, maybe too "orange" but much better than the default textures.Airports are enhanced as well and so are autogen buildings. The only thing I don't like is the road lighting but you can keep your previous files for that. For the (small) price, a nice addition to our FS9.best regards,David in jerusalem - PC Hardware: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D // Asus ROG Crosshair X870E HERO // 2x32Gb Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5 6000MT/s CL30 // ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4090 OC Edition // 4Tb Corsair NVMe M.2 MP600 // Corsair 1600W PSU Samsung Odyssey Arc 55" curved 165 Hz monitor. - Simulator Hardware: VIRPIL Constellation Alpha Prime + VIRPIL VPC Universal Control Panel - #3 + MOZA AY210 Force Feedback Yoke + WINWING URSA MINOR 32 Throttle & PAC Metal + WINWING SKYWALKER Metal Rudder Pedals + WINWING Airbus FCU & EFIS + WINWING Boeing 3N PAP + WINWING MCDU-32 + WINWING PFP-4 + WINWING PFP 3-N + WINWING PFP-7.
September 9, 200520 yr >2 bad reviews and 1 good. Any others?>>Regards>TimI think that for $18 its not bad. I don't think that it will match the what Ultimate Terrain (UT) has to offer, however, I am happy with it. Hope this helps. Scot
September 10, 200520 yr As a real world pilot, I think the textures are quite realistic. The textures look every bit as good as in the screenshots. It's so much better than the default textures which were pretty bland, IMO.For less than $20, it's not a bad addition to FS.-John.
September 10, 200520 yr What are the differences between this payware package and the freeware une.zip and neu.zip packages by the same author in the file library?
September 10, 200520 yr NEU.zip enhances lighting for the default ground textures, auto-gen buildings, and default airports.UNE.zip enhances lighting for non-auto gen buildings, bridges, vehicles, lanmarks, and major airports (I believe). The payware version is a combination of these two packages but way better.-John.
September 10, 200520 yr Save your money and go get the free night textures by FScene. Here is a shot I took with them and UT.I did some moding to the textures but in general they are very good.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/126694.jpg
September 10, 200520 yr I use Chris Willis's generic night textures (freeware), available here on AVSIM. They are my personal favourites. Chris Arrington has also done some (freeware) which are very popular by all accounts, again available here on AVSIM.
September 10, 200520 yr Author Heres a little secret...if you plan on getting the BEV textures when they are released, the dev's have stated that they will be releasing a set of night textures for free sometime down the road. They supposedly look something like the Mega-Scenery night textures and if so...they will blow these ones away. Eric
