January 14, 201610 yr Google Earth does have a flight simulator mode, try it ... it's mostly horrible with FPS around 8 and long pauses between areas ... and buildings that are positioned accurately but horrendously ugly. Cheers, Rob. There is even a standalone Google based simulator http://www.gefs-online.com/ While the idea seems appealing, you'll judge P3D even higher after trying it. I know a lot of people are bashing the boiled-up FSX code, but I have never enjoyed a flight simulator better looking and performing than P3D3.1. And I have all but a high-end system by today's measures. On my system, the SCA LA basin is performing roughly like the NCA SF bay area. Not unexpected, same makers, same technology, Within the LA basin it's just usable (15-20 fps in GA), in most other areas I find it okay. This is with (too) high settings, however, I have to admit, I never fly real planes (speak PMDG) plus I don't have any panel on display as I use a hardware panel.
