Bill Melichar's PHNL killing my frame rates

Featured Replies

I have an extremely fast computer, yet the PHNL scenery from Bill kills my frame rates. I get 5 on the ground if I'm lucky, and on approach as well. Horrible stutters too. I am using DBWSims add-ons for the area as well but these don't seem to hurt my frames as muchAny help fixing this issue would be appreciated.

I had a similar problem with all his scenery. His problem is he includes some of the Nova textures in each of his local texture folders which he shouldn't do. The Nova textures should be FSTexture. Duplicate textures chew up RAM. I ran FlightSim Manger 2.8 (AVSIM download) and used its diagnostic utility to remove duplicate textures. It seems a littler faster after that... See if it works for you...Al

Lago? Who's Lago? Ah, you mean the ones that give no support. Lol.Anyway, it is probably an option over Melichar's PHNL. I have reduced most of its textures to 1/2 or 1/4 and even with them I had pretty bad fps that made me get rid of it.A shame, since PHNL is almost a HUB for us flying from the USA to the Pacific.Leo

I wouldn't say Lago has great frames, but for an older airport design it still is holding up pretty well. For me, the DBW stuff doesn't align with UTUSA accurate coasts and roads so I had to turn it off.scott s..
