Microsoft Presentation at the AVSIM Convention

Looks great, i will have to start saving up money for a new graphics card as ATI cards of today will not show these nice graphics, they dont support pixelshader 3. Only the Nvidia 6000 series and up supports this today. So if you are about to invest in a new graphics card stay away from the present ATI cards, they are no good for the games to come.OHN

Thanks Tom for the "play-by-play" coverage. Man, here I kept telling myself I am completely satisfied with FS2004 but that water reflection sure looks tempting! ;)

Another nVidiot.Good thing you said the ATI cards of TODAY. What do you think will happen by the time FS10 or whatever it is called comes around?

Let's face it, Microsoft guards what they are going to do very closely. I don't see even a hint of anything that might be in the Sim.They have obviously allowed for enough time for a major update. I have a couple of guesses like everyone else. These Include:1. Optional 64 bit support.2. True Profeesional version with switch to DVD delivery, for improved mesh, roads, and other detail.3. Optional tie to satellite data server.4. Improved graphic card support.5. Support for new dual core processors.6. Eye Cand, Eye Candy, Eye Candy...... (Which I for one like).7. Return ov moving objects on the ground.Bob (Lecanto, Fl)

I said "if you are about to invest NOW" cant you read :-roll , i do know ATI is implementing it in there next card.OHN

Hi again,Thanks for all the kind comments; I appreciate it.A couple of responses:1. He made it clear that this presentation of graphics technology was:a. Not necessarily what will be in FS10.b. Not all that would be improved in FS10.2. Everything you see in this series of images was taken using an ATI 9800 graphics card, so you would be able to get effects at least as good as what was shown with current graphics cards.3. IMO, every version of FS has run best on the NEXT generation of CPU's, but typically has run fine on the CURRENT generation of GPU's.Take care,--Tom GibsonCal Classic Propliner Page: http://www.calclassic.comFreeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.comDrop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___

I'm having a hard time trying to figure out the point of your post, Panman. He never mentioned the future, as you pointed out he was speaking of the cards today. And the nVidiot remark. Brilliant. I tire of reading pointless posts like yours. If you like nVidia, great! Run nVidia. If you like ATi, great! Run ATi.Still waiting for the FS10 release date anouncement....-JeremyThe Ozark DogfighterHappy Flying!
