February 17, 201610 yr Hi Martin, Oh - ok - thanks - I've always been under the misconception it was a function of the MOBO and bios... Regards, Scott
February 19, 201610 yr TJ Max or maximum junction temperature is the maximum safe operating temperature of the CPU Scott. At TJ Max the CPU will throttle back. Above TJ Max it will shut down. Awesome innovation really, one we take for granted. Quite rare to find failed CPU's these days. In fact Intel provide their Performance Tuning Plan. It costs about 25 of my English pounds. Knacker your CPU overclocking and Intel will kindly send you a new one... demonstrates how confident Intel are that their CPU's will safely shut down in a dodgy situation.
February 19, 201610 yr I second the opinion that something is very wrong with your cooling. Remove and reinstall the 212 Hyper Evo along with replacing the thermal paste. There is no way you should be getting temps that high on 4.1GHz. Ivo Dimitrov
