ow was precipitation in California, especially in the Sierra Nevada this winter?

 

Better, but as you can see from current reservoir levels we'll need at least 2 more years of good rainfall before we can start to think we're no longer in a drought.  It took about 3 years of good rain to recover the last time CA was in a severe drought.

Still well below historical average, but it's looking better than it did a few months ago.  These reservoirs will fill up more in May/Summer as the snow melts but Squaw Valley is reporting 125" depth at the summit official numbers: http://www.nohrsc.noaa.gov/nsa/?region=Sierras

 

Population expansion is also adding more stress to our reservoirs.
