Performance issue with FS9 port-overs to FSX

Featured Replies

Hello !

I have just purchased FireFighterX, for which I have installed Milton Shupe’s TurboFirecat. Surprisingly I am getting below-par FPS compared to the planes I usually fly (30 fps with my beloved Virtavia BN-2 above OrbX PNW).

This add-on is a FS9 port-over, and now I remember I had the same issue with his Dash7.

So I’d like to ask if such performance drops are usual with port-overs? Is there a trick to prevent them?

Any help will be appreciated!

In my experience, FS9 port overs always bring a performance hit in FSX and there is no fixing it.

My computer: ABS Gladiator Gaming PC featuring an Intel 10700F CPU, EVGA CLC-240 AIO cooler (dead fans replaced with Noctua fans), Asus Tuf Gaming B460M Plus motherboard, 16GB DDR4-3000 RAM, 1 TB NVMe SSD, EVGA RTX3070 FTW3 video card, dead EVGA 750 watt power supply replaced with Antec 900 watt PSU.
