Shutting background programs

Featured Replies

Hi,

I am reading various threads in getting max performance from your pc and note alacrity pc mentioned a lot in these forums...

I have a win7 64 bit system and my first question is to know if alacritypc works ok with this operating system as the one i find on google points to a vista version...any link for a download for this please....also  i have no clue how to proceed...

Anyone can assist with any ready working profiles to run fsx or else point me in a direction with simple instructions from where to start...i have no clue how to choose which programs to close or that must be kept running.

any assistance appreciated even if you use some other software that you can tell me about.

I have found that shutting down automatic updates, automatic virus scans, and automatic defragging is helpful for sim performance, but unless you have a very old or slow computer... older and less powerful than mine... you might not gain very much from shutting down other background processes.

My computer: ABS Gladiator Gaming PC featuring an Intel 10700F CPU, EVGA CLC-240 AIO cooler (dead fans replaced with Noctua fans), Asus Tuf Gaming B460M Plus motherboard, 16GB DDR4-3000 RAM, 1 TB NVMe SSD, EVGA RTX3070 FTW3 video card, dead EVGA 750 watt power supply replaced with Antec 900 watt PSU.

Since installing Iolo System Mechanic I have found great computer improvement plus it has the means to boost FSX, worth a go at the trial version.
