I have an ongoing problem getting the speech recognition to accept the spoken word "before". All the other checklists are no problem & work fine, but all the ones that start with the word "before", I have to say multiple times to get recognition. This is most annoying. I have followed all the voice training routines & tried all manner of ways of saying the word without success.

Does anyone else have this problem & have they found a solution? Otherwise this is a great programme.

I had a horrible issue with "arm" in the Q400 FS 2 crew.  I finally said the letters a-r-m quickly, and told voice recognition that it was "arm". Then it worked every time as long as I spelled a-r-m . You might see if you can figure out something like    b-e-for.  for before.

I've never heard of anyone having trouble with "Before" before.  Usually it's Brits who have problems with "auto", and that can be fixed using this method:

Are you saying "Before" as part of a single spoken phrase.

 

Example: Before Start Checklist.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I am using "before" as in "Before Start Checklist" etc. Following your suggestions I have retrained the speech recognition with the phrases starting with before & now only have to say it a couple of times to get it recognised. I also find it helps if said in a slight American accent. I guess the speech recognition is still far from perfect.
