First Ever PMDG?

Recommended Posts

Jayme, I purchased their 757 for Fly! in January 2000 and their 767 in August of the same year.

Thanks Jean-Jacques! But did you buy immediately after release? Maybe the 767 got released earlier and you just happened to buy the 757 first.

Jaime, this is the first part of the readme file that came with the 757.  I did purchase it in January 2000, but as you can read it, the readme states a release date of 12/17/99

Furthermore, this is the name of the zip file with the 767 installer that I purchased in august 2000 : pmdg767for757owners.zip

Their first "product" was a Manual for Aerowinx's PS1

Their first "simulation" overall, was the 767 for Fly!

Their first "simulation" for MFS was the 737-600/700

Now, that makes a heap of sense, and logical follow.

Didn't they, or some predecessor company, create a 767 wayyy back for either FS98 or FS2000?

EDIT: I found the 767, and a 757 and 777 which were made for Fly! in 2000. I found reviews for the 767 (http://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/content.php?1281) and 777 (http://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/content.php?1284) over at flightsim.com. It's amazing to see how far sims have come in 16 years.

yeah amazing

In this review (http://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/content.php?1281) the following statement clearly shows that the 757 for Fly! came out before the 767 :

and a big improvement over the previous PMDG 757 flight model

I still have a copy of PMDG's very first product - the operating manual for the Aerowinx PS-1!

Still have one somewhere in my basement, too. Gosh, I'll have to dig it out one of these days ...

I'm not sure where the negativity regarding the 2002 / 2004 737 NG comes from but at the time, it was easily the best addon out there along with the (at the time) wilco 767 pilot in command which of course was the level d guys.

Things have come a long way since then of course.....

Spot-on. I still have that boxed version. And I could not believe my luck getting it cheap too, at a games reseller in London's Tott Ct Rd.
