Big turboprop planes

Featured Replies

Not sure if it's big enough, but by golly it's good enough: Samdim Antonov AN24RV. Freeware, in the library, up there with the best payware IMHO.Allcott

yah, that's why I didn't mention the other suggestions.OP seems to be looking for something larger than a C-130.

Sorry for the error. The C-17 is a jet. His site is down right now but I'm sure I saw props on his as were other earlier versions perhaps the 74 or other model with radials retired about the '60s.Perhaps some may be in private service in some isolated spot.

Large turboprops:the Bristol Britannia and the canadair CL-44.Mike Stone has both. The largest and most impressive turboprop , i think, was the russian TU-114.You find it on the Avsim library.Guy

Thanks everyone.

ARGGWhy, oh WHY did you have to mention the ** B17?WHY???I missed my chance to own the full retail ** but I don't want to purchase the B17 alone....Much more mentions of it here, though, and I may have to. Dangit. Almost breaks my poor heart to see such a beautiful bird and not be able to fly it.Yet.:)-Jeremy BurchThe Ozark DogfighterHappy Flying!Pilot-The friction locks are causing the throttle levers to stick.Mechanic- Umm, that's what they're there for...

Hi there.Good advice not to rush to buy anything. There is plenty of freeware to discover before you sample the delights of payware..I recommend the AFG NAMC YS-11. It is an older aircraft now but really does fly nicely. Great sound set too.CheersLungs

Yes, I'm in no rush to buy. I spent enough already on my yoke/pedal setup. :) This thread is really for future reference. I'm still going through the flying lessons, and learning the absolute basics of flying.

>Mike Stone at www.pmstone.com has just put up a Globemaster>C17.>>You'll also find other large turbos there such as a Britannia,>Super Connie, Lockheed Electra, and more.>>Freeware.>I'm still mad that Know one but KNOW ONE has bothered to produce a DECENT C-17 yet!!!Sorry about the diversion, end of rant:Dave T. .........On the lovely warm Devon Riviera and active 'FlightSim User's Group' member at http://www.flightsimgrpuk.free-online.co.uk/

>>The KBT P-3 is reportedly exceptional. Haven't flown it - but>since I have over 100 hours on the EP-3B (pre-Aires>model) - I'll be trying their E model soon.>By saying you flew on Willie Victor's, then you flew on one of the two "Batracks" that VQ-1 had, correct? Cool, did you know they were CIA aircraft prior to the "Batrack" mod? There were only 3 EP-3B made/configured. The two "Batracks" and a INEWS project aircraft that NRL(now VXS-1) had.(actually still flies, just designated an NP-3D now)http://publish.hometown.aol.com/p3superb/i...s/sign_name.jpg
