April 24, 201610 yr Is it possible to convert fsx textures to FS9? I found a iFly 747 Iron Maiden paint for fsx bbut not fs9. Cheers Robert Helton BAVirtual Chief Pilot Regional Jets Cityflyer EGLC
April 24, 201610 yr If the FSX textures are DXT5 and/or .DDS textures, converting them to DXT3 for use in FS9 is no big deal. If they are larger than 1024 pixels they would have to be resized down to 1024. And the biggie is, do you have an FS9 compatible model that is texture mapped the same as the FSX model? If you do have a workable model you can change the format with DXTBmp- MW Graphics If you have to resize the textures you would need an image editing tool, MSPaint would probably work. Note that downsizing will greatly reduce quality. regards, Joe The best gift you can give your children is your time.
April 24, 201610 yr In the case of the iFly 744, yes, the conversion can be done: DXT5 DDS to 32-bit BMP, resize to 1024 (or 512 if GPU is not good) and from there to DXT3 BMP. I've done this for various 744 FSX repaints.
