April 27, 201610 yr Sometimes the beauty of flight sims is in flights of fantasy or fancy, resurrecting Certificates of Airworthiness for aircraft which no longer have them, or indeed using aircraft which never existed (not in this particular case!). A dawn takeoff from Coningsby to RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus in my current aircraft flavour-of-the-month, the Handley Page Victor. Thanks Virtaiva (Alphasim freeware). EDIT - must learn to find my way around without Progressive Taxi! April 28, 201610 yr That's one beautiful plane, Mark Any attempt to stretch fuel is guaranteed to increase headwinds My specs: AMD Radeon RX6700XT, AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, 32GB RAM, 34" monitor, screen resolution: 2560x1080
April 28, 201610 yr Author Thanks guys. I do prefer the Victor to the Vulcan (HERESY, some might say!). The Victor just LOOKS more beautiful & menacing at the same time IMHO. April 29, 201610 yr Author ...and we're at Akrotiri..safe and sound. However, I did underestimate the fuel burn & had to "refuel" :( Shouldn't have left her at more than 0.9 Mach for so long Victors had a range of about 4K miles, so Akrotiri should have been no problem.
