I think another way of doing it is to create an empty airport using the original identity but using AFCAD or similar to eliminate all content.

 

Yes, that should work. Only (minor) downside is that you still should see the "stub" airport with the old code in your charts application.

 

 

 


Would ILS inspector not help with the ICAO renaming etc? I note there's an option in the program to do so. I'm going to be flying to Johannesburg soon (sim-only I'm afraid!). O R Tambo's ICAO has changed from FAJS TO FAOR. Sorry if it's slightly off-topic, but kind of relevant.

 

Very relevant. So many thanks for pointing me towards ILS inspector. It solved the ORBS/ORBI problem much more easy than with my method.
