November 15, 200520 yr Peter,If MSFS were to provide direct links to ALL of the freeware and commercial developers sites we would ALL benefit from the added exposure and most likely see newcomers coming "up to speed" a bit quicker. We have to agree that the hobby in it's present state could use a "shot in the arm" as it relates to expansion and any help from the boys and girls at Aces Studio would certainly be welcomed.Your suggestions are good but may be a bit shortsighted in that they rely on supportendorsement from MSFS without considering a few other factors as it relates to expansion. If we agree that flight simulation enthusiast fall into three main groups as follows A) Beginner :( Intermediate C) Advanced, then a concerted effort by all :( Intermediate and C) Advanced users should made to assist the A) Beginner to advance to another level. Again, concerted effort by C) Advanced users to assist :( Intermediate users to advance to another level as well.In short, much of the responsibility for expansion and promotion of Flightsimulation lies in the hands of users at whatever level they find themselves. If you were to stop infighting in the community as it relates to the well known "freeware v commercialware" or the equally tiring "xyz addon costs more than the sim" arguments, then it is quite possible that users in any of the categories listed above might actually become ambassadors for the expansion of flightsimulation.:-) If I were a newcomer to flightsimulation today, it would certainly be an overwhelming experience to try to "wade through" all of the diverse "opinions" to find my own level and expand upon that.In our humble opinion, it will be a combination of users maturing and assisting each other, and MSFS promotionendorsement of Freeware and Commercialware, that will cause more growth and expansion of Flightsimulation as both hobby and a cottage industry.:-)
