July 19, 20169 yr I'm new to the Shrike and am trying to learn more about the systems. I've looked on the Garmin site, YouTube, as well as the 530 doc I got with my Milviz 310R, and all of these have more info on the 530 than the Carenado info contains. So for those of you who are familiar with the 530, what level of realism should I expect to see as I learn how to use the Shrike version of the 530? Thanks
July 22, 20169 yr The Carenado GNS 530 is basically a repackaged FSX GPS 500, quite basic. If you are looking for a more realistic option, I would suggest looking at the Flight1 GTN 750, which is the real world replacement for the GNS series. For FSX-MS, there is also the somewhat long in the tooth Reality XP GNS 530 unit to consider. Bert
July 23, 20169 yr I have both The GTN 750 is the superior product But I like the RXP GNS 530/4 series for era appropriate AC Don't expect any support from the original producers of the RXP products sadly Lew HAL 9000....... When FMC's go bad........very bad
July 23, 20169 yr Author Thanks for the feedback. Someday I'd like to get the 750, but that's a few allowances from now.
